HELLO YELLOW BRICK ROAD

125 years ago, L. Frank Baum dreamed up a world filled with yellow brick roads and unexpected adventures — right from his home in Chicago. Fast forward to today, and our friends at Allied Global Marketing invited us to bring a bit of that Oz magic to life.

When it comes to creating something magical, there’s no place like… Dugud.

With cameras rolling and gear in tow, we hit the road — from the Windy City to the golden shores of Manhattan Beach, CA, then over to Long Island, NY. The mission? Capture a surprise stunt promoting Sphere Vegas’ upcoming screenings of The Wizard of Oz. Think pop-up magic, holiday crowds, and plenty of “Did that just happen?” moments.

Our crew handled various aspects of production, including:

BEHIND THE SCREAMS: KENTUCKY STYLE

When a client calls and says, “Let’s do a branded shoot and we need full photography & video production at an amusement park,” there are only two words to say: buckle up. The Dugud crew hit the road and headed straight into the heart of Kentucky, cameras in tow, to take on a project that promised thrills, spills, and maybe a sweet treat or two.

The location? The one and only Kentucky Kingdom, a local legend packed with roller coasters, prizes galore and the new reveal of Discovery Meadow. The mission? Deliver full-service video production and a suite of still photography that captured not just the attractions—but the electric feeling of being there.

From the moment we stepped through the gates, we knew this would be anything but a routine shoot. Kentucky Kingdom doesn’t sit still—and neither could we. Over two days, we covered:

  • Full production video & still photography for marketing & social

  • On-ride POV footage & drone cinematography

  • B-roll of food, games, mascots, and magical mayhem

Our crew quickly learned to balance precision with spontaneity—one moment we were setting up a rig for a hero shot of the main coaster, the next we were chasing their new mascot who had a special gift for our participants. The result was a full-throttle sizzle reel, a collection of hero stills ready for billboards and brochures, and enough b-roll to make even the most serious editor crack a smile.

What started as a small dream fueled by passion and a single camera has grown into something bigger than we could have ever imagined. Over the past decade, we’ve had the honor of working with visionary brands, inspiring individuals, and communities that have trusted us to bring their stories to life. Each project, from heartfelt, docu-style brand stories to high-energy commercials, has taught us something new about the power of creativity — and about the incredible people behind every story.

In 2015, we opened our digital door with a simple mission: to create high-quality video content that meant something. Since then, we’ve expanded our networks, sharpened our craft, and embraced every new challenge with the same passion we had on day one. Highlights of the last 10 years:

ONE WORLD, ENDLESS EXPERIENCES

Our friends at One World Observatory invited us to the top of the world so the Dugud team (and our agency partner, Allied Global Marketing) could showcase the incredible experience their team provides. The crew captured lifestyle video and photography to highlight the space, the views, the food and so much more. While Dugud was only responsible for production on this project, we had a talented group of camera, HMU and production team members come together to make it all possible.

THE NEW NORTH POLE

In an effort to showcase the updated health and safety protocols at Macerich properties, we were charged with producing a quarantine-proof holiday content shoot at Fashion Outlets of Chicago in Rosemont, Illinois. While we didn’t have snow or mistletoe, the center was complete with sanitization stations, curbside pick-ups and socially distanced store line-ups. With real couples and families, the new North Pole took over a section of the mall to demonstrate how Santa and safety go hand-in-hand. Santa even made an early surprise appearance.

Our crew upheld CDC and the City of Chicago’s recommendations as it relates to limiting the spread of COVID-19, including testing for all crew and talent. Masks were required on set and departments maintained social distancing. Dugud handled the full-service production from set design, casting, and wardrobe with photography and still retouching.

A WHISKEY TO LEAD THE PACK

When our friends at The Thomas Collective reached out for production support on a social campaign for Jason Aldean and Florida Georgia Line’s latest venture, Wolf Moon Bourbon, we jumped at the opportunity. The world was first adjusting to life with COVID-19, and we were no strangers to remote shoots. We wanted to demonstrate how shooting remotely doesn’t have to forfeit quality or creativity. In fact, sometimes it helps streamline the process - and remind us that safety should always be a priority.

This social campaign was produced and photographed remotely with client notes delivered virtually. We developed still moments and sourced props that speak to the brand’s identity and promote kicking back to enjoy a smooth glass of whiskey wherever you may find yourself.

 
 

Our videos concepts offered quick ideas on how to pair Wolf Moon bourbon with ingredients you probably already have in your bar or kitchen. After wrapping the shoot day, we decided to practice what we preach and kicked back ourselves to enjoy the product - let’s just say, we were (Wolf) Moon-struck!

For the launch of L'Oreal's haircare line Elvive, we worked with the brand team to design and shoot 31 unique e-commerce pages that reflect the clean, modern aesthetic that L'Oreal is known for. Our creative team was reposnbile for turn-key production, including concept, imagery, post production and copy for 6 major sub labels - Total Repair 5, Color VibrancyExtraordinary Oils, Extraordinary Clay, Volume Filler, Smooth Intense.
